You can also try having Pikachu/Raichu hold a Waterium Z-Crystal to make the most out of Surf. Having Surf on your Pikachu/Raichu will be great for taking down their one weakness, Ground-type Pokémon and with Alola Raichu’s massive Special Attack stat, Surf will hit extra hard. So if you want a regular Exeggutor, Marowak and Raichu, you’ll need to evolve the pre-evolution inside of Ultra Space.įor the sake of the Surfing Raichu, take your Surfing Pikachu into Ultra Space and use the Thunderstone to evolve it. This area will allow for trainers to evolve their Pokémon into their Kantonian forms. You’ll need to reach the part of the story where you enter Ultra Space. To get a Surfing Kanto Raichu is a little more involved. To get a Surfing Alolan Raichu, simply expose your Surfing Pikachu to a Thunderstone. You can also evolve Surfing Pikachu into a Surfing Raichu or Alolan Raichu. You also cannot breed this Pikachu to pass down the Surf move. You can soft reset it to get a shiny or the IVs you desire. Once you’ve become the top Mantine surfer in all four beaches of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, you’ll want to travel to Ula’ula Island and head over to Heahea City and find the house with the surfboards on the porch.Įnter this house and speak to the gentleman who will congratulate you on your efforts and gift a Pikachu that knows the move Surf.Ī few things to note about this Surfing Pikachu. There are four beaches that have Mantine Surf to correspond with the four islands of Alola, you’ll need to get the top spot on each beach, which may take some time but to get a Surfing Pikachu will be worth it. To receive your Surfing Pikachu you’ll need to get really good at the Mantine Surf minigame. After a Swords Dance, this thing is just going to kill everything, no matter what.Ever since Pokémon Yellow Version the lore of the Surfing Pikachu has always been around and in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, trainers can finally get one on their own. Banded has no switchins at all, and the only way to kill it is to revenge it with Krookodile or hope Mega Altaria lives. Terrakion: The single biggest threat to the team is Terrakion (that alliteration though). It is possible to deal with it, as it has no reliable recovery. Mega Aggron: Just killing this thing is annoying. Altaria has no SpDef investment, so Ape can break through it after enough switch ins. Nasty Plot Infernape: This thing is terrifying to try and revenge kill. Having Surf on your Pikachu/Raichu will be great for taking down their one weakness, Ground-type Pokmon and with Alola Raichu’s massive Special Attack stat, Surf will hit extra hard. It even cheeses through Moltres, as Icicle Crash does a solid chunk. For the sake of the Surfing Raichu, take your Surfing Pikachu into Ultra Space and use the Thunderstone to evolve it. Mamoswine: This mon is scary to fight with this team, as nothing par Moltres can switch into it. Will-O-Wisp is another option to burn something right away without having to count on Flame Body activating. Defog allows Moltres to clear Hazards from the field, and Toxic cripples walls named Blissey and other walls that annoy Moltres, such as Swampert and Slowbro. Roost allows Moltres to stay healthy and continue to check what it needs to. Flamethrower is the only attacking move, as it deals decent damage to anything that doesn't resist it or is named Blissey. Flame Body has a 30% chance to burn anything that makes contact with it, such as U-turn users like Scizor, Mega Beedrill, and Hydreigon. Again, standard Moltres EV spread, so check the smogon analysis for what they do down below, I'll link them there. It's the secondary hazard control and Scizor check on the team. Roost allows Mega Altaria to keep itself healthy throughout the match, allowing the team to deal with Krookodile and Terrakion (somewhat). Dragon Dance allows Altaria to boost it's attack and speed by 1 stage, allowing Altaria to outspeed every non-scarfed pokemon slower than Latias and Gengar. Earthquake complements Altaria's Fairy STAB quite nicely, hitting Steel and Poison types that would resist Frustration, such as Tentacruel, Bisharp, and Empoleon. Frustration is essentially a 122 base power STAB attack when boosted by Mega Altaria's ability, Pixilate, which turns all normal type moves into Fairy type moves. The rest of the EVs are thrown into attack to make sure Altaria can at least fight back. 176 speed allow Altaria to outspeed Adamant Bisharp and below. 112 HP and 100 Defense coupled with an impish nature allow Altaria to eat an unboosted Close Combat into Z Stone Edge from Terrakion. Altarianite allows Altaria to Mega Evolve. Mega Altaria is the Krookodile, Terrakion, Non-Flash Cannon Hydreigon, backup Latias check, and Mega on the team. ![]()
